1、 Using
1. Acetylene cylinders should be equipped with dedicated flashback preventers and pressure reducers. For those with unstable working locations and frequent movements, they should be installed on dedicated trolleys.
2. It is strictly prohibited to strike, collide, and apply strong vibrations to prevent the porous filler inside the bottle from sinking and forming voids, which may affect the storage of acetylene.
3. Acetylene cylinders should be placed upright and strictly prohibited from being used horizontally. Because using it horizontally can cause the acetone in the bottle to flow out with acetylene, and even flow into the rafter tube through a pressure reducer, which is very dangerous.
4. Use a dedicated wrench to open the acetylene cylinder. When opening an acetylene bottle, the operator should stand behind the valve port and move gently. It is strictly prohibited to exhaust the gas in the bottle. In winter, a residual pressure of 0, 1 to 0, and 2 MPa should be left, while in summer, a residual pressure of 0 and 3 MPa should be left.
5. The operating pressure should not exceed 0.15Mpa, and the gas transmission speed should not exceed 1.5-2 cubic meters (m3) per hour per bottle.
6. The temperature of the acetylene bottle should not exceed 40 ℃, and it should be prevented from exposure to sunlight in summer. Due to the high temperature inside the bottle, the solubility of acetone in acetylene will be reduced, resulting in a sharp increase in the pressure of acetylene inside the bottle.
7. Acetylene cylinders should not be near heat sources and electrical equipment. The distance from the open flame is generally not less than 10m (when working at height, the distance between two points perpendicular to the ground should be calculated).
8. The bottle valve freezes in winter and is strictly prohibited from being baked over fire. If necessary, hot water below 40 ℃ can be used to thaw.
9. The connection between the acetylene pressure reducer and the bottle valve must be reliable. It is strictly prohibited to use it in case of air leakage. Otherwise, a mixture of acetylene and air will form, and once it touches an open flame, it will immediately explode.
10. It is strictly prohibited to use it in poorly ventilated and radiating areas, and it is not allowed to be placed on insulation materials such as rubber. The distance between acetylene cylinder and Oxygen tank shall be more than 10m.
11. If defects are found in the gas cylinder, the operator is not allowed to repair it without authorization, and should notify the safety supervisor to send it back to the gas factory for treatment.
2、 Storage
1. On site where acetylene bottles are used, the storage capacity shall not exceed 5 bottles; If there are more than 5 bottles but not more than 20 bottles, a separate storage room should be separated by non combustible or non combustible materials and walls on site or in the workshop, with one side adjacent to the outer wall; If there are more than 20 bottles, an acetylene bottle warehouse should be set up; An acetylene bottle warehouse with a storage capacity of no more than 40 bottles can be built adjacent to a production plant with a fire resistance rating of no less than level 2. The adjacent wall should be a fire resistant wall without doors, windows, and holes, and any pipelines are strictly prohibited from passing through.
2. The distance between the storage room and the open fire or spark emitting place shall not be less than 15m, and shall not be located in the basement or semi basement.
3. The storage room should have good ventilation and cooling facilities, avoid direct sunlight, ensure smooth transportation roads, and set Fire hydrant and dry powder or carbon dioxide fire extinguishers near it (tetrachloride fire extinguishers are strictly prohibited).
3、 Transportation
1. When lifting and handling, special fixtures and shockproof transport vehicles should be used, and electromagnetic cranes and chain ropes are strictly prohibited for lifting and handling.
2. It should be loaded and unloaded lightly, and throwing, rolling, sliding, and touching are strictly prohibited.
3. Vehicles and ships should be properly secured for shipment. When transporting acetylene bottles horizontally by car, the head should be facing one side and should not exceed the height of the car body; When discharging vertically, the height of the vehicle body should not be lower than the bottle
